Responsible for creating, coordinating and maintaining the handicapped parking and advocacy program mandated by Chapter 497 of the Laws of the State of New York, and Albany County Resolution #445 of 1999. Direct, create, coordinate and maintain Albany County Disabled Registry, this program is directed by Section 23a of the Executive Law of the State of New York and Albany County Resolution #285 of 1999. The program is designed to assist the special needs community during emergency situations be it manmade or natural that could occur in Albany County. Direct, coordinate and maintain a cooperative sheltering plan for Albany County in the event of an emergency.
