May 13, 2019

For their active participation and commitment to stimulating academic growth and promoting positive mental health for the students of the Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary School and the community, Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will honor school psychologist Dr. Katrina Emmerich’s assistant, Maggie, as the Albany County Executive's May Citizen of the Month.

Over the past two years, Maggie has formed close friendships with the children of BKW, helping students cope with internal/external stresses, such as self-esteem and emotional regulation, and allowing students to process their feelings in a healthy way.

Join County Executive McCoy on Wednesday, May 15 at 10:00am at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary School to honor Maggie, recognizing their dedication to helping students of Albany County live healthier lives.

This award presented by County Executive McCoy provides a measure of recognition to those who go above and beyond to make our community a better place to live.
