County Executive McCoy Announces Informational Forum Tour for Seniors

August 31, 2018

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy today announced a landmark upcoming tour throughout Albany County dedicated to connecting older residents with the many services available to them to improve their quality of life.

Do you want to know more about the CDTA half-fare program? Are you having difficulties affording your home and paying for utilities? Are you unable to prepare your own meals due to an accident or illness? Are you applying for Social Security for the first time and need assistance?

Over 60,000 seniors currently call Albany County home and they have access to programs that will help them to live in comfort and stay in their homes. The informational forums will educate older constituents on Albany County programs as well as services provided at the state and federal levels and help them navigate the complexities of signing up. They will also be able to ask questions and provide feedback on the services they are already receiving.

The tour will kick off with the first public forum in Albany in collaboration with County Legislator Wanda Willingham who has been a leader in helping seniors get the services they need. See below for the date, time and location of the first public forum. Two more forums will follow with dates and locations to be announced.
