The nonpartisan organization based in Washington, DC has served to bolster the efforts of its more than 700 member counties and consolidated local governments for the last four decades.

“The purpose of the CEA is to help local governments do the people’s business and exchange policy ideas that are proven to work,” said County Executive McCoy. “I am proud of the programs we are implementing in Albany County that are keeping our neighborhoods safe, creating jobs, tackling the opioid crisis and creating better opportunities for those who need it most. As President, I look forward to sharing our successes with and learning from our many distinguished members across the country.”

“Dan McCoy becomes president of County Executives of America when our Association and the American people truly need the kind of dedicated service and leadership that he brings to the organization,” said County Executives of America Executive Director Michael Griffin. “His vision and energy exemplify what is necessary for the success and sustained growth of this country and will continue our collective endeavor to represent the people in a fair and just effort to bring to America the society it deserves.”
