33nd Annual Traffic Safety Awareness Weekend Media Advisory

September 19, 2017

Children are our future and protecting our most precious assets is critical, especially in the car and their child safety seats. At last year’s Traffic Safety Event, 111 child safety seats were inspected and only 6 installed were done correctly when drivers came in.

The Traffic Safety Awareness Show is set for this weekend at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, September 23rd and Sunday, September 24th in the lower level during normal mall hours. The car seat check runs Saturday only in the overflow parking lot adjacent to JC Penney from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.

The main focus of this weekend is going to be to teach everyone the dangers and the importance of traffic and child passenger safety. The event is sponsored by the Albany County Department of Public Works-Traffic Safety Education Program.
