County Executive McCoy Rallies Championship Team in Pursuit of World Series Trophy

Posted: Monday, July 29, 2019 9:33 AM

Area leaders, a local celebrity and a cat will send off a baseball team in hopes of bringing home a World Series trophy. Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy is hosting the rally for the North Colonie Bison Blue 12u baseball team, which brought home the Cal Ripken Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament last summer as eleven year olds and under. That earned them the spot to compete in the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, MO this year. It was the first time a North Colonie Youth Baseball Association team had won the tournament with a record then of 42-7-1.

McCoy will be joined by Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan, American Idol finalist Madison VanDenburg (who will do a singing send off) and Tri-City ValleyCats mascot Southpaw, players and fans at the Albany International Airport.
