County Executive’s “Week of Champions” to Honor High School Sectional Title Winners for Achievement

County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will again honor Sectional champions from Albany county schools for the Spring edition of the county’s “Week of Champions” program, which celebrates achievement by local teams. Beginning on June 16, the County Executive will visit local schools to present certificates to the teams whose accomplishments merit recognition for sportsmanship, achievement and excellence.
The schedule and location for Champions’ Week is as follows:
Monday, June 16 at 2:45 a.m. – Guilderland High School, LGI room
The week begins with an event at Guilderland High School as the County Executive honor the boys’ tennis team for winning its third team Section II Class AA title in the last four years.
Tuesday, June 17 at 3 p.m. – Shaker High School, gym lobby
The next stop will be Shaker High School where the County Executive will honor the girls’ lacrosse team for winning the Section II Class A title. The team had a great season and won its second Sectional title in the last three years. The Blue Bison finished the year with a 17-2 overall record and a 14-0 record in league play.
