McCoy Says Roll Out of Albany.TweetMyJobs.com Is a Success

5/2/2014 12:26:38 PM

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy today announced that the roll out of the “Albany County Jobs” initiative has exceeded expectations as job seekers and employers have generated strong traffic in the 45 days since launch.

In March, Albany County announced a partnership with Tweetmyjobs which provides job seekers the ability to access thousands of job openings in the region. Additionally, employers can use the platform to post job openings.

The platform performance data shows that since launch more than 4,300 unique visitors have visited Albany.tweetmyjobs.com and that more than 1,900 have created a profile on the site. The data also shows that 30 percent of this traffic came from the albanycounty.com web site. By using the site job seekers can learn about suitable openings via Twitter, email, Facebook or text message. Registration takes less than five minutes.

“These numbers reflect the value of this platform to job seekers and employers,” said McCoy. “This is just the beginning and we will continue to work with employers, local school and the media to match job seekers and employers.”

The numbers also reflect a positive response from area firms as 101 employers have registered and have posted job 239 local jobs in the last 45 days. The goal for the next three months is to add another 2,000 registered job seekers and 100 employers from now until the end of the summer.

“This shows that the county is on the cutting edge in this area,” McCoy said. “Whenever we post a link on Facebook, when we post links to Albany.Tweetmyjobs.com the response is very positive and it demonstrates that this partnership is a good one.”
