10/25/2013 2:53:23 PM

Come celebrate Albany County’s 330th birthday with our week long celebration. Kicking off the party on Friday November 1st, in the Cahill Room at the Albany County Office Building at 112 State Street, between 9am and 2pm, come to see Albany County’s history up close and personal.  Historical artifacts from the Albany County Hall of Records will be on display including the images of the handwritten Dongan law chapter 4 creating New York’s counties.

On Sunday November 3rd at the Times Union Center from 11am – 4pm, we are proud to host “Live Life Local”. This event will feature only local Albany County businesses comprising of farmer’s market, craft fair and area restaurants.  Along with getting a taste of our county, ShopRite’s Chef Melissa Doney Sheridan from Hell’s Kitchen and teacher at SCCC will be hosting cooking demonstrations as well as a cook-off to help close the event.

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will honor several local veterans for their service… veterans who have dedicated their lives to serving our community. We will honor them on Friday, November 8th at 10am in the Cahill Room at 112 State Street.

Capping off the week, November 8th will be the home opener basketball game between UAlbany and Siena at the Times Union Center.   M & T Bank has provided tickets to the home opener to about 100 local kids who will wear special Happy 330th Birthday Albany County t-shirts to the game.
