Victoria Plotsky joined the Albany County Legislature in January 2018 after winning a Democratic primary and then a special election to represent the 38th Legislative District.

Victoria grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, and has lived in the Albany area since 1992. A 1989 graduate of Middlebury College with a major in Soviet Studies, she lived in Moscow for two years after college. Victoria managed a grants program for the British Embassy and traveled among many of the former Soviet republics. In 1992, she came home to attend Albany Law School and graduated in 1995.

In private practice, Victoria handled commercial litigation and estate planning and administration. She later joined the New York State Department of Financial Services, Life Bureau, and then the Workers’ Compensation Board, where she served as an attorney for 15 years. Victoria managed a group of attorneys and examiners who specialized in uninsured workers compensation cases and World Trade Center volunteer cases. Her skills and experience include: litigation, analyzing and applying legislation, project management, and streamlining processes for efficiency. Victoria is now serving as the Associate Counsel for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Victoria has lived in Clarksville with her husband, Bruce, for the past 11 years. Previously, she had lived in Albany and Delmar. A past president of the Delmar Rotary Club, Victoria has raised thousands of dollars for charities locally and overseas. She is an avid musician, speaks Russian and a little Japanese, and loves to cross-country ski and bicycle.
