Richard N. Touchette (D)
Albany County Legislative District 37
Rick Touchette is serving his first term on the Albany County Legislature representing the 37th Legislative District, which is coterminous with the Town of Coeymans. Rick has previously served the Town as a member and Chair of the Planning Board, and as a member of the Town Board. He is a member of the Historic Coeymans Landing Neighborhood Association and the Ravena Coeymans Historical Society.
Rick is a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri and in 1990 earned an MBA from the University of Houston. He served for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa.
Rick is past President of the New York State Association of Cemeteries, served on the Board of Directors of the National Catholic Cemetery Conference, and is a Certified Cemetery Executive. He also serves on the Board of the Philmont Staff Association and the National Catholic Committee on Scouting.
Rick is Executive Director of The Catholic Cemeteries of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, New York. Albany Diocesan Cemeteries operates 16 diocesan cemeteries in New York’s Capital District and offers consulting and support to the 76 parish cemeteries in the 14 county diocese. He came to New York in February of 1994 from the Diocese of Galveston-Houston, where he had been with the Catholic Cemeteries since 1983.
Rick and his wife, Kathi Rice, are the parents of three grown children. They live in the hamlet of Coeymans, and are members of St. Patrick’s parish in Ravena.
