Albany County Land Bank Corporation

The Albany County Land Bank Corporation is a newly formed entity established to end blight and the devastating effects it has on our communities, and begin to reverse the damage already done. The Land Bank is charged with streamlining and facilitating the processes by which vacant, abandoned, and underutilized properties can be returned to productive use. The Albany County Land Bank Corporation was approved by New York State Urban development Corporation d/b/a Empire State Development, pursuant to Article 16 of the New York State Not-for-Profit Corporation Law.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR POSITION 

In partnership with the Board of Directors, the Albany County Land Bank Corporation’s first Executive Director will forge strategic and tactical alliances, develop and implement policy, and manage the financial reporting and health of our organization that will confront and end the problems distressed properties cause to our neighborhoods. He/She will support county-wide and local revitalization strategies and efforts through strategically acquiring, improving, assembling, demolishing, and selling vacant, abandoned, and tax-delinquent properties.

The purpose of the Community Advisory Committee is to advise the land bank staff and board on land bank activities in their respective communities throughout the county, as well as to keep residents within those areas apprised of land bank activities and provide them the opportunity to comment. The committee will work with the board to develop a set of acquisition and disposition priorities and policies. The Albany County Land Bank Corporation Board of Directors wishes to establish the committee to ensure, from the very beginning, that our effort is an inside-out approach to problem identification and solution-building. The board is keenly aware that without the input and guidance of invested community leaders in guiding our way, true trust and meaningful partnership can never be accomplished.
