Rural Fire Protection ProgramThe District has received funding to help offset the cost of dry hydrants to local fire departments by providing the materials and all necessary survey and design work free of charge. Dry hydrants provide enhanced speed and safety and are arguably one of the most cost-effective fire protection measures available. The implementation of dry hydrants enables fire fighters to save homes, barns, and lives, but helps both the public and the fire departments save money; therefore, there is a great benefit to both the general public and the fire districts.
