NY-ALERT Sex Offender Relocation Alerts
The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) and the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) recently have partnered to establish through NY-Alert a system for residents to register to receive alerts by e-mail, text message, fax or telephone when a moderate (Level 2) or high risk (Level 3) sex offender listed in the New York State Sex Offender Registry moves into or out of their neighborhood.
This alert system will provide a valuable tool in protecting our most valuable resource, the children of our communities.
