JOB TITLE: PUBLIC HEALTH PLANNER
DEPT. /AGENCY: Albany County Health Department
STARTING SALARY: $53,581
Principal Job Duties: Under the general supervision of the Commissioner of Public Health, the incumbent in this position directs and coordinates the planning and data collection activities of the Health Department. He is responsible for the planning, coordination and monitoring of various public health programs and essential services including a plan to address bioterrorism. A high degree of responsibility is exercised in the preparation of statistical and technical reports for projects of particular importance. General supervision may be a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Masters Degree in Public Health Planning, or related Health, Health Administration, or Human Services field, or;
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Public Health, Human Services, or related health field and two (2) years of administrative or supervisory experience in a health care or human services agency.

NOTE: This is a provisional appointment. You must take and pass the exam and be reachable on the appropriate certified list to retain this position.
