ACDSS Medical Director The Albany County Department of Social Services is seeking to enter a contract with a Physician to assume the responsibilities of Medical Director. The Medical Director will work with the DSS Adult Services Division and Medicaid Division, in accordance with current Federal and State regulations. This is a part-time contractual relationship. Minimum Qualifications: § License to practice medicine issued by the NYS Department of Education; and § Possession of American Medical Directors Certification. Responsibilities: § Review and approve/disapprove recommendations for 24/7 personal home care § Conduct disability evaluations in accordance with the Social Security Administration Preferred Qualifications: § Experience with disability evaluations; § Board Certification in Geriatrics; § Deep understanding of long-term care system; § Working knowledge of guardianships and the laws pertaining to such and must be available for consultation 24 hours a day 7 days a week to approve medical procedures for patients for whom Albany County has been designated as guardian.
