Statement by Albany County Executive Daniel McCoy on Veto of Local Law F

"The intention of Local Law F of 2012 is commendable.  Thank you to Legislator Gary Domalewicz for his efforts in bringing this public service to our attention.  Victims of crime need government to protect them at all levels.  However, Local Law F in its present form is flawed.  The public comments made during the public hearing I held on July 30, 2012 made that clear.  I praise both Chairman Shawn Morse and Legislator Domalewicz for their vow to work with secondhand dealers to ensure that a future law would benefit crime victims and not place an undue burden on our business community."
