Albany County Holds 17th Annual Child Safety Seat Check Program in Colonie
June 12, 2014
You might not think a trip to the store could be deadly for your child but car accidents are the number one killer of kids. Child safety seats that aren’t used correctly are one big reason. Albany County is working to change that by demonstrating to caregivers the proper way to install the seats to keep kids safe by hosting the 17th Annual Albany County Child Safety Seat Check program.
“This free event is one of the largest in the northeast and features Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians from around the Capital Region,” said Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy. “More than 55 safety technicians will be available to guide and assist attendees. Since 1998, over 1,672 seats have been inspected and surprisingly only 77 have been found to be correct.”
The seat check program will be held on Friday, June 13 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Sears of Colonie Center at 1400 Central Avenue.
The event is sponsored by:
