Albany County Hosts Salute to POWs/MIAs As Chair of Honor Is Unveiled at The Times Union Center
May 27, 2014
Albany County, the Times Union Center, the New York Chapter of Rolling Thunder and the Tri-County Council of Vietnam Era Veterans will join together to unveil a special honor to the military personnel who have served with honor and have not returned home to their families.
They will announce that the TU Center, the area’s premier entertainment venue, will join other stadium and arenas as participants in the Rolling Thunder POW/MIA Chair of Honor program, which serves as a permanent memorial to our missing military. Join Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy at the Times Union Center Concourse on Wednesday, May 28 at 3 p.m. for this unveiling and the latest update on events scheduled for this weekend’s bike rally, concert and street fest to benefit the proposed Albany County Veteran’s Campus.
These honorary chairs have been installed at public spaces, and stadiums such as Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium. A Chair of Honor is also scheduled to be installed at Yankee Stadium.
