Albany County Executive to Honor RCS Students for Community Service Projects
May 05, 2014
Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy will acknowledge a special group of Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Middle School students who have given of their time and completed several charity projects for the community.
Most recently the members of the Family and Consumer Sciences Club at RCS completed a quilt for donation to the Linus project, which provides new handmade blankets to children who are ill or have been traumatized in some way. The children have also carried out book drives, volunteered at the Regional Food Bank and have collected money for Pennies for Patients, which helps those with leukemia and lymphoma.
The County Executive will visit the Middle School at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 where he will present certificates to the club members.
