JCAB: Offering a restorative approach juvenile crime

The Albany County Department of Probation is offering a volunteer training session for those interested in joining the Juvenile Community Accountability Board (JCAB).
The JCAB program seeks to help juveniles understand the impact crime has on the community, and allow them an opportunity to repair harm. Volunteer JCAB members are trained to facilitate meetings with the juvenile, their parents and the victim (if they choose to attend).
We are offering a full-day training event for new volunteers:
Saturday, April 27, 2019
9:00am–4:00pm
Albany County Probation Department
60 S. Pearl St., Albany, NYPLEASE NOTE:
- A volunteer application must be sent in and approved prior to registering for the training.
- There is no cost for this training.
- Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
- All training materials will be provided.
- You must be registered to attend.
- Deadline to register is Friday, April 19, 2019.
- Space is limited.
