Albany County Executive Recognizes Exceptional Volunteers within the Community

Posted: Monday, April 9, 2018 11:40 AM

Join Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy as he honors seven recipients with the 2018 Albany County Executive’s Volunteer Award. Honorees include a dedicated woman, who has spent 40 years as a full-time volunteer after founding the Albany Salvation Army’s canteen (kitchen); a high school student who demonstrates outstanding leadership by organizing events, parties and toy collection for the children at St. Catherine’s; another honoree is a man who serves on the Juvenile Community Accountability board, which holds kids accountable for their actions and making amends with the victims rather than sending them to jail; and other extraordinary citizens who have served Albany County.

The ceremony will be held on April 16 at 10:30am in the Cahill Room at 112 State Street.

These annual awards presented by County Executive McCoy provide a measure of recognition to those who go above and beyond to make our community a better place to live.
