County Executive Announces Launch of Innovative Online Jobs Platform "Albany County Jobs"

A new way to job search or recruit using Twitter, Facebook and other social platforms

Albany County Executive Daniel P. McCoy today announced the launch of "Albany County Jobs," a new online job platform that will enhance the way people find employment by leveraging the power of social media.

"Albany County Jobs" utilizes the web and mobile apps to provide instant access for job seekers to more than 18,000 jobs in the region. Employers can also use the platform to post job openings. This new online jobs platform is powered by TweetMyJobs and uses mobile and social media to boost employee recruitment efforts.

"Technology is rapidly changing the way we live," said McCoy. "Starting today, Albany County is poised to become a leader in changing the way people find jobs and employers find qualified employees. By using social networking and the mobile app, "Albany County Jobs" will instantly provide job opportunities for county residents and in today’s competitive job market that can only benefit those in the county."

By partnering with TweetMyJobs, the county is also providing local employers with access to the same cutting edge tools that Fortune 500 companies currently use. Getting started is easy and beginning today employers can quickly distribute their job listings throughout the digital landscape, including Facebook, Twitter, job sites, email and mobile.

"Albany County Jobs" takes just five minutes. After job seekers create a profile, job openings will be sent via the social network, email and mobile and "Albany County Jobs" will be available through a link posted on, through the web page or through the mobile application available at the iTunes app store on the Android app store.
