Sudden cardiac arrest strikes nearly 400,000 people each year – and only 10 percent survive.

Albany County wants to change that statistic. For the second year in a row we will offer FREE Hands-Only CPR training throughout the county during February, which is American Heart Month.

Hands-Only CPR can be taught in under five minutes. Having CPR performed can double or triple the chances of survival for victims of sudden cardiac arrest.

The free training sessions will be offered by Albany County, the Albany County Sheriff''s Office, American Heart Association, REMO (Regional Emergency Medical Organization) and first responders throughout Albany County.
