Karate students

Under the direction of Shihan Tony Butler and his personally trained assistants, boys and girls ages 5 to 14 benefit from the valuable lessons taught.

The style of karate taught is Shotokan karate.

Self-discipline, self-confidence, and respect are just some of the qualities that are taught through this program.

Students will be provided with their own gi (uniform), and will be exposed to and participate in tournaments and events.

Currently we are holding karate classes at the following locations and times:

  • Ravena: Mondays, 6:15-7:15pm, Pieter B. Coeymans Elementary School, 66 Church Street
  • Berne: Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00pm, BKW Elementary School, 1738 Helderberg Trail
  • Clarksville: Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00pm, Sheriff’s Department, 58 Verda Avenue
  • Watervliet: Thursdays, 6:00-7:00pm, Watervliet Dome, 1300 2nd Ave
  • Cohoes: Fridays, 6:00-7:00pm, Cohoes Middle School, 7 Bevan Street
  • Colonie*: Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, Albany-Schoharie-Schenectady-Saratoga BOCES, 900 Watervliet-Shaker Road (upstairs lobby)
    *Please Note: Our COLONIE program will be at BOCES July 11–August 29 while the Maywood School undergoes construction. Beginning September 5, the Colonie program will be back at the Maywood school. There will be no program on Wednesday, July 4.
