Jack Casey returns to CDIAA to discusses his novel,
A Land beyond the River.
The history of the Erie Canal comes alive in the story of
DeWitt Clinton, Eleanora Livingston Van Rensselaer, and
Daniel Hedges who overcame the obstacles of mountains,
war, and politics to succeed in building the canal that
opened America’s western expansion.
The story of the
Erie Canal is intertwined with the story of the Irish immigrants
who helped build it. Mr. Casey’s presentations
are always entertaining and informative.
